The Problem with Unsorted Messages

Modern SMS inboxes are chaotic. A typical day might include: a package delivery notification, a two-factor auth code, a promotional message from a retailer, a message from your bank, and a handful of actual conversations. Finding the conversation you want means scrolling past all the transactional noise.

Unifyer categorises messages as they arrive, so you open the right tab and see only what you're looking for.

Category Tabs

• Family — messages from contacts in your family group
• Work — work contacts and professional messages
• Friends — personal conversations
• Orders — delivery notifications, shipping updates, and retailer messages detected automatically by content pattern
• Other — OTPs, bank alerts, and anything that doesn't fit a category

How Categorisation Works

Unifyer uses your contact groups (from Android contacts) to sort messages from known contacts into Family, Work, and Friends tabs. For unknown senders, it uses message content patterns to identify delivery notifications and promotional messages for the Orders tab. Everything else goes to Other.

You can manually reassign conversations to different tabs when the automatic categorisation misses the mark.

SMS Privacy

Unifyer is a local SMS reader — it reads your messages from the Android SMS content provider the same way the default messaging app does. No messages are uploaded, no content is sent to any server. It's functionally equivalent to your existing messaging app in terms of data access, just with better organisation.
