DNSLens: The Android DNS Lookup Tool Built for Propagation Checking
DNSLens is a free Android DNS lookup app that queries all record types across multiple resolvers and shows you propagation status — MATCH, MISMATCH, or ERROR — in real time.

You've updated a DNS record. Now comes the wait — and the question: has it propagated yet? Opening a browser, navigating to a web-based propagation checker, typing the domain, waiting for results, and doing it again ten minutes later gets old fast. DNSLens puts that workflow in your pocket.
What DNSLens Does
DNSLens is a free Android app for DNS lookups and propagation checking. Query any domain for any record type — A, AAAA, MX, TXT, CNAME, NS, SOA, PTR — across multiple resolvers simultaneously, and see at a glance whether they're returning consistent results. Every query is saved to your history so you can track changes over time without re-entering anything.
Multi-Resolver Propagation Checking
The standout feature of DNSLens is its propagation checker, which queries your chosen resolvers in parallel and compares responses:
- MATCH — all resolvers are returning the same record
- MISMATCH — resolvers disagree, propagation is still in progress
- ERROR — one or more resolvers failed to respond or returned an error
DNSLens checks against a set of geographically distributed resolvers including Google (8.8.8.8), Cloudflare (1.1.1.1), and others, giving you a real-world picture of propagation status rather than just what your ISP's resolver says.
Full Record Type Support
DNSLens supports every major DNS record type. Checking MX records when email isn't flowing after a domain migration. Verifying TXT records for SPF, DKIM, or domain verification. Looking up CNAME chains. Querying SOA serial numbers to confirm a zone change has propagated. Reverse DNS PTR lookups to identify IP addresses. DNSLens handles all of it.
Query History for Reference
Every lookup is saved with the full response, the resolver it came from, and a timestamp. This is useful when you're managing multiple domain changes across a day — you can scroll back to compare what a record returned an hour ago versus now without re-querying.
DNSLens is free, requires no account, and works without any cloud backend — queries go directly from your device to the resolvers you specify. Search for DNSLens on Google Play and make DNS troubleshooting faster.
