Privacy Policy

Summary: StatusPing does not collect, transmit, or share your personal data. Monitor configurations and check results are stored locally on your device only. We use Google AdMob for ads, which has its own data collection practices.

1. Data We Collect

Data stored locally on your device:

  • Monitor configurations: URLs, check intervals, expected status codes, and custom names you configure are stored in a local database.
  • Check results: HTTP status codes, response times, timestamps, and error messages from endpoint checks are stored locally.
  • Preferences: App settings are stored in SharedPreferences.

Data we do NOT collect:

  • We do not collect or transmit your monitored URLs, check results, or any data to our servers.
  • We do not track your usage or activity.
  • We do not have analytics or telemetry.
  • We do not collect your IP address, device identifiers, or location.

2. Network Requests

StatusPing makes the following network requests:

  • Endpoint checks: HTTP GET or HEAD requests to the URLs you configure as monitors. These run on your configured schedule, including in the background.
  • Notifications: Local push notifications are generated on-device when status changes. No external notification service is used.

Network requests are made only to endpoints you explicitly configure.

3. Background Processing

StatusPing uses Android WorkManager to perform periodic checks in the background. This continues even when the app is closed. You can disable any monitor at any time to stop its background checks.

4. Third-Party Services

Google AdMob

The App displays advertisements via Google AdMob. Google may collect device identifiers, IP addresses, and usage data for ad targeting and measurement. This is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

5. Data Security

  • All monitor data and check results are stored locally in an on-device Room database.
  • The app database cannot be extracted via Android backup (backup is disabled).
  • URL validation is performed before saving monitors.
  • All HTTP checks use configurable timeouts to prevent hanging connections.

6. Data Retention

All data is stored locally on your device. You can delete individual monitors and their history, or uninstall the App to remove all stored data.

7. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be accessible within the App and at this URL.
