GroupScope Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 24, 2026
Summary: GroupScope processes target photos entirely on your device. Shot detection, group measurements, and session history are stored locally — nothing is uploaded to any server. No account required.
1. What GroupScope does
GroupScope is a target-practice shot tracker for Android. You photograph a shooting target and the app uses on-device computer vision to detect bullet holes, measure group size, calculate statistics, and log session history. All image processing happens on your device.
2. Data we collect
We collect no data. Specifically:
- Target photos are processed on-device and optionally saved to local session storage only.
- Session history (groups, shot counts, distances) is stored in local app storage on your device.
- No photos, session data, or measurements are transmitted to any server.
- No account or registration is required.
- No usage analytics or telemetry is collected.
3. Permissions we request
- CAMERA: Required to photograph targets directly within the app for shot detection.
- READ_MEDIA_IMAGES / READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE: Required to load photos from your gallery for analysis.
- INTERNET: Required solely for Google AdMob to serve banner advertisements. GroupScope makes no other network requests.
4. Third-party services
GroupScope displays a Google AdMob banner advertisement. Google may collect device identifiers and usage data for ad targeting under their own privacy policy. No photo data or shot data is shared with AdMob.
No other analytics, crash reporting, or tracking SDKs are present.
5. Data retention and deletion
All session data is stored locally. You can delete sessions within the app or clear all app data via Settings → Apps → GroupScope → Clear data. Uninstalling the app removes all stored data. There is no server-side data to delete.
6. Children's privacy
GroupScope is intended for adults engaged in lawful target shooting sports. It is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
7. Changes to this policy
If we add features that change what data is handled, we will update this page and note the change in the Play Store release notes.
